Peyton Yager was born in Friendswood, Texas and grew up watching news with her family during Hurricane Rita. She started studying broadcast journalism at The University of Texas at Austin before moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas where she covered deadly tornadoes and the Johnson & Johnson opioid trial. In Oklahoma City, she reported on Donald Trump's 2020 campaign rally in Tulsa and shared stories of Oklahomans affected by COVID-19 while pressing politicians for answers. She was honored to join the FOX 4 team in March 2021.
