Jacqueline Thomas

Jacqueline joined WMUR’s Storm Watch 9 team in October 2021.

As a native New Englander, Jacqueline grew up fascinated by all four seasons. She measured the snow at recess in school, constantly watched the weather on TV as a kid, and always wondered why and how the atmosphere does what it does.

This curiosity led her to study meteorology and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Atmospheric Science from Lyndon State College. Her career began at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pennsylvania (yes, the town in the Billy Joel song). She worked there for two years before returning to New England and landing a job at WMUR’s sister station WMTW in Maine.

She is an active member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society and loves photographing nature, the sky and different weather phenomenon.

Aside from weather, she enjoys being outdoors whether it’s to lounge in the sun, throw a football around or go for a bike ride. Her family is extremely important to her and she loves spending time with them. In her spare time, other hobbies include theater and singing – maybe you will catch her at a local open mic!

Stories by Jacqueline Thomas
