Broke On: Tuesday, 27 February 2024On February 11, 2023, a woman named Genesse Moreno opened fire at an unarmed security guard outside Joel Osteen's megachurch in Houston. She also carried a .22 caliber rifle that police said she did not use. The shooting happened just before the start of a service at Lakewood Church and left her 7-year old son Samuel and another man injured but no one dead. Moreno was killed by security personnel during the exchange of gunfire with them, sparking controversy over how someone with such a background was able to obtain weapons.
