Andrew Donovan

Andrew Donovan is a senior reporter for NewsChannel 9, who joined the team in July of 2013. He covers breaking news, feature stories, and public affairs events. He also hosts ÁNewsmakers with Andrew Donované, a weekly public affairs talk show on NewsChannel 9. Donovan has been with NewsChannel 9 since its inception in 2012. He has covered major news events such as the Syracuse Honor Flight trips to Washington, DC, the inauguration of President Joe Biden, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also interviewed prominent figures such as former Vice President Mike Pence, Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Before joining NewsChannel 9, Donovan worked as a digital media producer and reporter for WKTV in Utica. He began his career in high school when he was hired by WKTV. Donovan graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in May of 2012 with degrees in history and political science. He is a lifelong Central New Yorker, having grown up in Whitesboro. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 2008. Donovan interned at NBC News at the network's world headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York during the summer of 2010. He contributed to NBC News' coverage of the Second Inauguration of Barack Obama from their studios on Capitol Hill. Donovan also worked as a social media coordinator in the Office of Communications at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
