David McCabe,

David McCabe was a renowned photographer who began his career in New York in 1960 as an art school graduate. He started working as a photo assistant and shot fashion editorials for magazines like Glamour and Mademoiselle. In 1964, Andy Warhol hired him to document his life for a year, resulting in thousands of black-and-white images that captured Warhol's self-designed mythology in the making. McCabe's photographs chronicled the glamorous downtown New York universe that the artist was manipulating into existence and have been featured in various publications posthumously. He passed away from lung cancer in 2021 at the age of 80.
