Jeff Winter

Jeff Winter is an associate producer with CNN's New York bureau. He has reported on mass shootings, domestic terrorism and wrongful convictions. Winter joined CNN as an anchor assistant for Richard Quest in 2017, when he began writing scripts for CNN International's “Quest Means Business”. Since then, he has worked and produced for many CNN programs, including CNN Heroes and CNN's annual New Year's Eve special. Prior to joining CNN's New York bureau, Winter worked for CNN Investigates, where he broke news on the Uvalde, Half Moon Bay, Monterey Park, and Nashville mass shootings. Winter is from Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Iowa. He holds a Master's Degree from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where he broke news in 2021 about New York City Mayor Eric Adams' financial ties to Turkish donors.

Broke On: Saturday, 16 March 2024 On March 16th, three people were killed in separate shootings in Bucks County. The first shooting occurred at about 8:52 a.m., on the unit block of Viewpoint Lane in Levittown where two people were shot and killed by an individual who arrived at the scene driving a stolen Honda CRV. At approximately 9:01 a.m., another person was shot and killed on Edgewood Lane, also in Levittown. The suspect then fled the scene after carjacking someone's vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot of Dollar General store on Bristol Pike, Morrisville.
