Anjali Huynh,

I am a political reporter for The New York Times covering 2024 campaigns and breaking news. I am also a member of the 2023-24 Times Fellowship class, a program for journalists early in their careers. What I Cover I report on U.S. political campaigns and elections, often covering breaking news and traveling to follow the 2024 presidential candidates as they make their case to voters across the country. On the campaign trail, I focus on which messages are resonating with voters, what issues are on their minds and who the important players are in the political process. I am especially interested in analyzing how underrepresented groups engage with the political system. My Background Before joining The Times, I reported on Georgia’s high-profile U.S. Senate race and its governor’s contest during the 2022 midterm election cycle for The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, where I previously covered local politics. I have also covered politics, breaking news and more at The Boston Globe, NBC News and CNN. I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, where I got my start in political reporting covering Democratic candidates ahead of the 2020 Iowa caucuses for Little Village Magazine. I graduated from Emory University in December 2022 with a degree in political science and sociology. Journalistic Ethics I adhere to The Times’ standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook. I do not contribute to or participate in political causes, and The Times pays for my travel to cover candidates on the road. I strive to include a wide variety of perspectives across the political spectrum in my coverage, and to report on communities and issues fairly and comprehensively.
