Allie Rasmus

Allie Rasmus is a reporter who joined KTVU in 2009. She has covered significant stories such as the San Bruno gas pipeline explosion, the Ghost Ship warehouse fire, The Tubbs, Atlas and Kincaid wildfires in the North Bay, and the Covid-19 pandemic. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Allie graduated from California High School in San Ramon before attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Medill School of Journalism. Prior to her work at KTVU, she worked as a production assistant at the Noticias Univision bureau in Mexico City and later in Washington, D.C. as a researcher with CNN Productions. Allie began her on-air career reporting based out of Washington, D.C., for WDTV in Bridgeport, West Virginia before moving to cover the state legislature for News 8 Austin in Texas (now Spectrum News) and working at KSAZ for three years before joining KTVU. Allie enjoys spending time with her family exploring the sites in the Bay Area, including hiking, visiting the Oakland Zoo, skiing Tahoe in winter, and annual trips to Santa Cruz in summer.
