Matt Evans
Matt Evans joined the team at KMBC in 2013. He grew up watching KMBC in his hometown of Clinton, Missouri, and is honored to be reporting and anchoring alongside the talented journalists here. Matt is an Emmy award-winning journalist, earning recognition for news writing and feature reporting. Since joining KMBC, Matt has helped lead the station’s coverage of countless stories in our area. His favorite stories have been flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, covering the 2015 World Series, and producing an hourlong documentary on the Missouri River 340. Prior to joining KMBC, Matt was an anchor and reporter at KOMU-TV, the lead statehouse reporter and editor for KMOX Radio, and reporter and anchor for the Missourinet statewide radio news network. Matt began his broadcast career as a country music DJ and board operator at KDKD-FM in Clinton in 2008. He also has worked as a reporter, anchor, host and sports play-by-play broadcaster for radio stations in Columbia and Springfield, Missouri. Matt is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He’s been a Royals, Chiefs and Mizzou fan his whole life and always cheers on our local teams.
