New evidence, including a .22 caliber rifle and their belongings, was discovered in April 2024 during metal detecting at Horse Creek. Ronnie 'Jay' Adrian Towns was arrested for their murders and armed robbery, allegedly luring the couple under false pretenses. The trial is scheduled to begin in August 2024 with the GBI urging anyone with information to contact them.
