Broke On: Thursday, 02 May 2024 On May 2, 2024, a tractor-trailer carrying gasoline caused a fire on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut. The collision resulted in extensive damage to the bridge and utilities, shutting down both sides of the interstate for several days. No serious injuries were reported but one firefighter was injured. Approximately 8,500 gallons of fuel spilled into a catch basin and marine units were on scene to prevent it from entering the Norwalk River. Traffic jams ensued as roads including Fairfield Avenue, Cedar Street, Stuart Avenue were closed.
