Asma Khalid

Asma Khalid is a White House correspondent for NPR. She co-hosts The NPR Politics Podcast and has been with the network since 2016. Prior to joining NPR, she was a reporter for Boston's NPR station WBUR where she covered the Boston Marathon bombings, the city's failed Olympic bid, and the trial of James "Whitey" Bulger. She has also led a new business and technology team at the station that reported on the future of work. Khalid has reported on political, cultural, and racial divides in the country. Her reporting has been recognized with several awards including the Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism, the Society of Professional Journalists award, and the Gracie Award. Khalid is a graduate of Indiana University and has also studied at the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics, Middlebury College's Arabic school, and the American University in Beirut.
