Wendy Burch
Wendy Burch is an Emmy Award-winning television journalist, acclaimed professional writer, and inspiring motivational speaker. With a career in journalism spanning three decades, Burch has delivered thousands of live television news reports: everything from breaking news to high-profile court cases to star-studded red-carpet events. Her talents have taken her across the country to major television markets including New York City, Dallas, Denver and Phoenix but the majority of her career has been spent covering the biggest news of the day in the city of LA. As one of the most respected and recognized reporters in Southern California, Wendy has had many memorable moments while reporting for KTLA's award-winning Morning News. A handful of those experiences have gone 'viral' and have made Wendy an internet sensation. Prior to joining KTLA, Wendy worked as a reporter for KCAL-TV, E! Entertainment News and was a member of KABC-TV's Eyewitness News team from 2003 to 2008. During that time, she received an Emmy nomination for best hard news reporting. Burch has gone on to receive numerous awards and honors, including six Emmy Awards. Wendy was also the recipient of the Gracie Allen Award and the Genii Award and the Excellence in Journalism Award from the American Women of Radio & Television. Aside from her work in front of the camera, Wendy Burch is also a professional media trainer to some of the world's top athletes. She's the founder of BIG Crowd Communications, a company designed specifically to train elite athletes and top executives to become substantial media players. World Championship teams, top draft picks and the country's leading sports agencies have all worked with Wendy to learn ways to perform at the top of their game whenever the microphone comes into play. Additionally, Wendy is an outspoken advocate for women struggling with fertility issues. She chronicled her own journey to get pregnant after the age of 40 and candidly discussed her decision to use a donor egg to ensure a successful pregnancy at the age of 46. Burch's voice has been instrumental in encouraging other women to seek out fertility treatments. Burch is currently writing about her experience in the book entitled 'The Pregnant Pause.' Wendy was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis on broadcast journalism.
