The Thomasville native graduated with a B.S. in Multimedia Journalism from Georgia Southern University in 2022 and holds experience in social media management, content creation and multimedia production for local, national and entertainment news. She previously worked for WTXL and interned for The Link Entertainment. She is an active member of Forbes BLK and Black Girls in Media. Outside of working in news, Jamiya runs her very own lash business, Cami's Luxe Lashes, and creates content catered to news, media and lifestyle. However, concerns about the actual value of Gerami's company's private shares and his past donation dealings led to FAMU pausing engagement with Batterson Farms Corp. and the Florida A&M Foundation. Following these revelations, FAMU Vice President for University Advancement Shawnta Friday-Stroud resigned, and an investigation was launched by the FAMU Board of Trustees.
