Samantha Bender,
Samantha Bender is a journalist who joined WKBN-27 First News as a multimedia journalist in July 2021. Originating from Bristol, Connecticut, she graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 2017 and later completed her degree in journalism with Magna Cum Laude honors from Central Connecticut State University in 2021. During her time at university, Samantha served as the news editor for the campus newspaper and producer/reporter for the campus newscast, 'CCSU News'. She received a First Place Award from the CT Society of Professional Journalists for her COVID-19 reporting. Prior to joining WKBN, she spent a semester in Orlando, Florida working at Walt Disney World Resort. Samantha has also won recognition from the society of professional journalists for her work on COVID-19. In her free time, she enjoys adventure activities like skydiving and exploring new places with family and friends. She is excited to be part of the Youngstown community and looks forward to discovering Ohio and Pennsylvania.
