Ap Correspondent
Ap Correspondent is a pseudonym used by multiple journalists working for The Associated Press (AP), a not-for-profit news agency that provides content to newspapers, television stations, and other media outlets. The author provided, George Gedda, was a veteran of the AP whose coverage of the State Department and international relations spanned over four decades. He was an expert on Latin America and Cuba and had authored three books: one on his time as an AP diplomatic correspondent, one on Cuba's communist revolution, and one on his first love, baseball. During his career at the AP, Gedda spent most of his time in Washington covering every secretary of state from Dean Rusk to Condoleezza Rice. He was respected by colleagues and competitors alike for his knowledge and professionalism. In addition to reporting visits to Cuba starting in 1974, Gedda played a role in the creation of the AP's first bureau in Havana since the 1960s in 1999.
