Jake Lawson is an Assignment Editor based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Born and raised in Aurora, Nebraska, he has been living in central Nebraska for nearly three decades. Jake studied theatre and stage/screenwriting between UNK and UNO before transitioning to journalism, earning a bachelor's and master of fine arts degrees. His passion for storytelling and the Midwest led him to Nebraska journalism. He has worked in various newsrooms across the state, taking on roles in direction, production, and writing. When not busy with work, Jake enjoys watching movies at Lincoln's theaters or camping at cozy nearby spots during warmer months. He also likes spending time at home with his cats Beau and Lenny.
