Darsha Philips is an Emmy-nominated general assignment reporter for NBC4. She reports on the NBC4 News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m., and on weekends on the NBC4 News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. Philips joined NBC4 from KABC-TV, where she had previously worked at the FOX affiliate KTXL-TV in Sacramento, CA, and the NBC affiliate KULR-TV in Billings, MT. Throughout her career at NBC4, Philips has covered countless breaking news stories across all newscasts. She is known for her tenacity, creative approach to stories, and deep knowledge of communities throughout Southern California. Philips also covers inspiring stories of people and diverse neighborhoods in the region. She has reported on major local news events such as the shuttle Endeavor's return to Los Angeles, the Montecito mudslides, the San Bernardino terror attack, and numerous wildfires. Philips graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Architecture. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoys cooking Indian food, drawing from her Sri Lankan mother's traditions.
