Kayla James is a general assignment reporter who joined the KCCI News team in January 2020. Prior to this role, she spent two years in Cedar Rapids covering several Eastern Iowa cities and communities. Originally from Florida, Kayla graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Midwest cities and frequenting local coffee shops and restaurants in Des Moines.
