Brett Thackara,

Born and raised in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, it was the historic blizzard of 1993 that first grabbed Brett’s attention and steered him toward a profession in meteorology. He earned his B.S. degree in meteorology from Penn State University in May 2007. Brett joined the abc27 Weather team in November 2007 and loves the challenge of forecasting in Central Pennsylvania. He loves the fact that Pennsylvania has a diverse climate where anything can happen from blizzards to tornadoes. He has seen everything from historic blizzards and flooding to tornadoes and hurricanes in many years at abc27. You can catch Brett as a staple of the abc27 morning lineup. He currently helps wake up Central PA on abc27 News Daybreak from 4:30am-7:00am. He loves helping viewers get their day started with the forecast and some laughs along the way. He also helps host Good Day PA from 10:00am-11:00am on abc27 and enjoys the variety of guests and fun segments on the region’s only local lifestyle program. Then he delivers the forecast for lunchtime viewers on abc27 News at Noon. Brett’s mornings are busy but enjoyable helping deliver the Midstate’s most accurate local forecast along with some entertainment. When he is not watching the weather or looking at forecast models, Brett enjoys golfing, reading, watching his favorite television shows, and spending time with his family and friends.
