David Pingalore
David “Ping” Pingalore is a sports anchor and reporter for KTLA 5 News. During Pingalore’s career, which spans more than 20 years, he’s covered four Super Bowls, two NBA Finals, the NCAA Finals Four and the Daytona 500. “Ping” says his biggest thrill as a sports anchor and avid golfer was getting to know legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. The two played nine holes of golf together at Palmer’s country club in La Quinta, California. Prior to joining KTLA, “Ping” was the sports director for 10 years at the CBS affiliate in Orlando, Florida. Before that, he worked in Cleveland, Ohio, and Johnstown and Scranton, Pennsylvania. In 2001, he flew along as a passenger with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Pingalore graduated from Jacksonville University the same year that the Jacksonville Jaguars started playing games in the NFL.
