Dave Hovde
Dave Hovde is the Chief Meteorologist for KSBY News, where he has been a Central Coast staple since 2003. With more experience than any other broadcast meteorologist in the region, viewers rely on Dave's accurate Microclimate Weather forecasts weeknights on KSBY News at 5:00, 6:00, 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. As a member of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, Dave holds active broadcast seals with both organizations. Prior to joining KSBY, he served as chief meteorologist in Fargo, North Dakota and chief meteorologist at KERO-TV in Bakersfield. A graduate of Minnesota State University, Dave has also attended Mississippi State and Portland State universities. Throughout his career, Dave has been recognized with the Golden Mike award from the Radio and Television News Association of Southern California for Best Television Weather Segment, a total of six times. In his spare time, he supports San Luis Obispo Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), speaks at local schools and community groups, and enjoys golfing and working out. Dave is the proud father of Ethan and Campbell.
