Harry Poole

Harry Poole, born in Stoke-on-Trent, was a professional football player for Port Vale from 1953 to 1968. He played as a half-back and is remembered as one of the best wing-halves ever produced in the Potteries. During his time at Port Vale, Poole made 499 appearances, ranking third in the club's history, and scored 79 goals, placing ninth on their all-time top scorers list. He was part of the team that won the Division Four title in 1958-59. After retiring from professional football, Poole remained a Port Vale season ticket holder for over 50 years. The club expressed their condolences to his family upon his passing.
