Pepper Purpura

Pepper Purpura is a reporter/multimedia journalist who joined KCCI 8 News from the University of Oklahoma. Originating from Texas, Pepper honed her skills in various roles within the student newscast, web team, and production at OU. In 2022, she was selected to report for the Gaylord College of Journalism's Gaylord News Washington Bureau. During her time there, she localized national stories for Oklahoma audiences and extensively reported at the Supreme Court on indigenous issues. Upon returning to Oklahoma to complete her degree, Pepper continued reporting on tribes and worked part-time for a newsroom in Lawton. Excited about exploring Iowa, Pepper is eager to uncover stories that matter to the local community. She welcomes story ideas, winter survival tips, and cute pet photos at pepper.purpura@hearst.com.
