Lawrence Martin is a Canadian journalist and author. He has written ten books, six of which became national bestsellers. His works include biographies of Jean Chretien and hockey star Mario Lemieux, as well as a history of hockey in Russia. Martin graduated from McMaster and Harvard universities and served as the Globe's bureau chief in Washington, Montreal, and Moscow. He has been a columnist for the Globe since 2002.
