Devin Herenda is a Sacramento native who joins KRCR following nearly a decade in Southern California. Her interest in media began while studying at Pasadena City College, where she majored in journalism and wrote for the campus's paper, the PCC Courier. Over time, Devin became drawn to the storytelling element of journalism and recognized her passion for people and communication. By 2020, she was named a recipient of the Society of Professional Journalists Greater Los Angeles Chapter Lisa A. Davidson Memorial Scholarship. In the earlier stages of her career, Devin has written for entertainment sites such as BuzzFeed, Nicki Swift, and Songwriting Magazine. Additionally, she previously reported for the hyperlocal outlet myBurbank News from 2020 to 2023. Here, she gained experience in covering local news and shedding light on important issues in the community. She also filled the role of host for myBurbank's podcast, myBurbank Talks, leading her own segment called 'Local Legends with Devin.' She has a strong background in local journalism and is dedicated to providing accurate and relevant information to her audience. Devin is excited to be a KRCR team member, expand on her broadcasting skills, and contribute to the station's excellent news coverage.
