The route includes Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia Southwestern State University, and ends at The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta. There will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex. President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, longtime friends of the Carters, are expected to attend the Atlanta service. The former president, Jimmy Carter, who is currently in hospice care, may also participate in the events.
