KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio is an independent, nonprofit news organization that produces award-winning journalism, innovative podcasts, engaging community events and more. The station's mission is to create and serve a more informed public by broadening conversations and deepening understanding. KUOW aspires to create factual and insightful journalism relevant to a wide range of audiences, covering topics such as police accountability, climate change, the pandemic's impact on work and life, and local threats to democracy. The station is committed to racial equity in order to serve the entire community. Over 90% of its funding comes from individual contributors and local business supporters who believe an informed public makes the community stronger.
