An Alabama man wanted in connection with multiple homicides in Oklahoma and Alabama was arrested on June 20, 2024, in Morrilton, Arkansas. Stacy Lee Drake, 50, is a person of interest in the deaths of two individuals near Gans, Oklahoma. He is also wanted for the murder of Russell Thomas Andrews in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.
Drake was taken into custody around 10 a.m. without incident by Arkansas State Police and held at the Conway County Detention Center for an extradition hearing scheduled for the following morning. He is wanted on multiple felony warrants from various jurisdictions, including charges of aggravated robbery, carjacking, and murder.
The bodies of two individuals were discovered inside a business near Gans, Oklahoma, on Tuesday. Both had injuries consistent with homicide. Drake is believed to have stolen the victims' vehicle after the crime.
Arkansas authorities initially reported that Drake was wanted for three Oklahoma homicides but later clarified it to be only two. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that he is also a suspect in Andrews' murder, which occurred on May 14, 2024.
Drake had an extradition hearing scheduled for Friday morning at the Conway County Detention Center. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and Arkansas State Police are collaborating on the investigation, with assistance from local law enforcement agencies in both states. The public is advised to avoid contact with Drake and instead call 911 if they have any information regarding his whereabouts.
