In a recent development, two new actors have been announced to join Daniel Craig in the upcoming third installment of Rian Johnson's Knives Out mystery series, titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Josh O'Connor and Cailee Spaeny are set to appear in the Netflix production.
O'Connor, known for his roles in The Crown, Challengers, Emma, God's Own Country, and Lee (for which he won an Emmy), will bring his versatility as a performer to the table. Spaeny, who has appeared in Bad Times at the El Royale, On the Basis of Sex, Mare of Easttown, Sofia Coppola's Priscilla, and A24's Civil War, is also recognized for her acting abilities.
The exact roles that O'Connor and Spaeny will play in Wake Up Dead Man are yet to be revealed. Production on the movie is scheduled to begin soon, with a 2025 release planned.
Daniel Craig reprises his role as Benoit Blanc, the Southern investigator who unravels intricate mysteries with his sharp wit and keen observation skills. The first Knives Out film was released in 2019 to critical acclaim, followed by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery on Netflix in late 2022.
