The 55th annual NAACP Image Awards were held on March 17, 2024 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The awards show honors people of color in film, television, music and literature. This year's ceremony was hosted by Queen Latifah for a second time.

Usher won two top awards at the event: Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Male Artist. He beat out Colman Domingo, Fantasia Barrino, Halle Bailey and Keke Palmer in the entertainer category. Usher released his ninth studio album 'Coming Home' last year and recently completed a successful sold-out residency in Las Vegas.

Fantasia Barrino won for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Celie in 'The Color Purple'. The musical film also took home the award for Best Motion Picture.
