Two of these tornadoes, both with an EF rating of 0, were reported on the South Side of Chicago. The areas affected include Bridgeport, Bronzeville, and Back of the Yards. Air raid sirens sounded in downtown Chicago as a precautionary measure.

In addition to these tornadoes, a Flood Watch has been issued for several counties in Illinois from 6:00 PM CDT on Monday until 3:00 AM CDT on Tuesday. These counties include Kendall County, DeKalb County, Grundy County, Eastern Will County, Lake County, Kane County, McHenry County, Central Cook County, Northern Will county (twice), Southern Will county (twice), Northern Cook county (twice), Southern Cook county (twice), Kankakee Country (thrice), La Salle Country and DuPage Country. Jasper County and Newton Country are also included in the Flood Watch.
