Darius Johnson,
Darius Johnson joined CBS News Chicago in August 2023, returning to his hometown after growing up in Chatham. His passion for journalism was inspired by his grandparents who watched the news daily. He has a strong background in reporting, having worked at KUSA in Denver, FOX59/CBS4 in Indianapolis, WSAV-TV in Savannah, GA, and CNN Atlanta. Johnson is a graduate of Morehouse College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and The National Association of Black Journalists. He enjoys skiing, traveling, dancing, spending time with family, friends, and his dog Charli. His reporting has been recognized by the DuPont Columbia University Awards for its investigative work on kinship care in Colorado.
