New York City-based TikTok influencer and rising filmmaker Eva Evans has tragically passed away at the age of 29. Her death was announced by her sister Lila on social media.
Lila shared a heartfelt tribute to her late sister, writing, “Yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died.”
Eva's cause of death was not revealed in the post. Lila announced plans for a celebration of Eva's life to be held on April 23 in lower Manhattan.
Evans had amassed a large following on TikTok, with over 305,000 followers. She also starred, wrote and directed the five-episode series 'Club Rat,' which streamed on Amazon Prime Video. In the show, she played an influencer navigating the chaotic New York City dating scene after a humiliating breakup goes viral.
Tributes from friends and fans poured in on social media, with many expressing their shock and sadness at the news.
Actress Julia Fox shared, “This is heartbreaking. I'm so so so sorry sending you and your family all of my love and strength.”
Fellow influencer Lindsay Vrckovnik wrote, “The loss is unfathomable, to those of us lucky enough to have known her brilliance and goodness, but also to the world, which is not the place it was meant to be without her. Godspeed, Lila.”
Eva's final Instagram post was made on April 18 as she posed candidly on the New York subway.
