United Parcel Service (UPS) announced on Sunday, June 24, that it has agreed to sell its Coyote Logistics division to RXO for $1.025 billion. The sale comes as UPS focuses on its core business and aims to update its financial outlook once the transaction is completed.

Coyote Logistics, a freight brokerage company based in Chicago, arranges freight shipments on available space on trucks contracted to trucking companies in its carrier network. The division has 15,000 customers and 2,500 employees and had a network of over 35,000 trucking companies when UPS bought it in 2015 for $1.8 billion.

RXO is a freight broker based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The acquisition will nearly double RXO's annual revenue to $7.1 billion and make it the third-biggest freight broker in North America.
