James Torrez

James Torrez is a reporter who joined KTVU in January 2021. He has reported on various topics including the COVID-19 pandemic, mass shootings in San Jose and Sacramento, as well as playoff runs for the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors. Prior to KTVU, James worked at WTVC in Chattanooga Tennessee and WPEC in West Palm Beach. He has received several awards for his work, including a Tennessee Associated Press award and an EMMY nomination. James was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL, and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications with a specialization in News and Producing. In his free time, James enjoys exploring different cuisines, playing and coaching soccer and volleyball, and rooting for his beloved Gators during college football games.
