Two killed, eight injured in shooting at underground New Year's Eve party in downtown LA

Two people were killed and eight others were injured in the shootout. The victims were described as a male and a female who were in their 20s. Hundreds of people had packed the building in the 2300 block of Porter Street and many of them spilled outside. The venue is not large enough to hold the number of people that were present. An Uber driver, identified only as Mike B., was in the area picking up customers when he got caught in the crossfire. Mike's vehicle was struck by bullets and at least one of his passengers had their arm grazed by gunfire. The man believed that there were multiple gunmen involved in the shootout.
