Peter Debruge
Peter Debruge is a film critic and journalist. He currently serves as the Chief Film Critic for Variety, where he has worked since 2005. In this role, he oversees a team of more than a dozen freelancers around the world and curates Variety's annual '10 Directors to Watch' list. Debruge's writing on film has appeared in various publications including Premiere, Life, Creative Screenwriting, IndieWire and The Miami Herald. He has also contributed to the book 'Variety’s The Movie That Changed My Life'. In 2017, Debruge co-founded the Animation Is Film Festival in Los Angeles. He has been a member of juries at several film festivals including SXSW, Reykjavik, Molodist, COLCOA, Annecy and Cannes.
