Marshall Scheuttle

Marshall Scheuttle is a local artist known for his photography. His work captures figures in an arena between wakefulness and sleep, in the place between two worlds. He has traveled extensively, having been to the hinterlands, the falls, the white sands of New Mexico, backstage and inside living rooms. Scheuttle's photography is influenced by Walker Evans and has been compared to his work by poet and writer Danniel Schoonebeek. Scheuttle's solo exhibition titled 'Borderland,' featuring portraits and landscapes with mystical or vaguely unsettling overtones, was displayed at CEPA Gallery. The show received positive reception and ran from the opening reception on Saturday until August 10th.
