Mariel Ruiz

Mariel Ruiz is a Bilingual Meteorologist on WFAA's Daybreak, Good Morning Texas and Midday in Dallas, TX. She joined the WFAA weather team in December 2021. Mariel is a native North Texan and a Texas A&M University alumna, where she received a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. She is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and one of only a handful of bilingual meteorologists with this designation in the country. Mariel has worked in Midland/Odessa, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Austin, Texas before returning to her hometown area. She is passionate about explaining why weather events occur and enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband and two dogs.
