Jayne Chacko is a news reporter with a focus on local stories and breaking news in Sussex County, Delaware. She began her career at WBOC based out of Salisbury, Maryland before moving on to 13WHAM in Rochester, New York where she covered the COVID-19 pandemic, civil unrest and a rise in gun violence. In March 2022, Jayne joined the WTNH News 8 team and is currently covering local stories in Connecticut. She graduated from Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences with a focus on journalism and American studies in 2019. West Haven Father Allegedly Tries to Drown Two Young Children at the Beach: Quick Actions of Emergency Responders Save Lives

Broke On: Sunday, 23 June 2024 A man, Romney Desronvil, allegedly tried to drown his two young children in the ocean at West Haven Beach on June 22, 2024. Officers from the West Haven Police Department and members of the West Shore Fire Department intervened and saved the children's lives before they were rushed to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital in critical condition. Desronvil was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted homicide and risk of injury.
