Five Defendants Charged with Bribing Juror in $250 Million Federal Funds Embezzlement Case
Broke On: Wednesday, 26 June 2024Five individuals, including three convicted defendants, were charged with attempting to bribe a juror during the trial of seven defendants accused of embezzling over $250 million in federal funds for children's food programs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The group targeted the youngest and only person of color on the jury panel, offering her $120,000 in cash to vote for acquittal.
